The natural world is a huge inspiration for me but my biggest inspiration has been my daughter, Bella. She is the most amazing and beautiful blessing in my life and I am so very thankful for her. Not only has she brought me so much love and joy but somehow ever since she came to be my mind has been flooded with ideas. Right now I’m focusing on individual watercolor butterflies and moths. During my pregnancy I rescued a wooly caterpillar from a river. When I looked up what kind of moth it would be I found it was the Isabella Tiger moth, the name I was thinking for Bella. The day I found out she was a girl a Monarch butterfly I rescued the night before with a hurt wing managed to fly. Today, Bella, her dad and I are always finding butterflies together. When the milkweed seeds start to pop open in the fall we release them in the air together. I have a great love and spiritual connection to them made stronger by my daughter’s connection to them. I am excited to continue to honor them more and more.
For the past decade I have tried to use art to bring positivity into this world. With my husband we’ve completed murals, rescued animals and traveled around the world sharing our art in the hopes of bringing inspiration and peace to others. I’m also a nurse. I’ve been a nurse since 2013 and I’ve worked with all ages. If you have a family member who you feel would benefit from some art time/art therapy please contact me.
